november 2012

We had a great weekend.
Hubs and I had a date night for the first time in a month on Friday night.
Saturday morning we woke up and went to Jonah's soccer game.
He's the most adorable soccer player there is!

Our BIL, Brian, was the coach.  He played soccer at UAB in college.  I'm sure Jonah thought it was cool having his dad coach his soccer team.  Apparently Brian must have been really great at it because the parents sure did appreciate him!

Because I posted a Jonah picture, I had to post a Callie picture.
I asked her to do a gymnastics pose and this is what I got:

After the soccer game, we headed out to Pepper Place Farmer's Market in downtown Birmingham.  We had never been, but really enjoyed it!  It was so fun!  If you've never been, I strongly suggest taking a visit and supporting our local farmers and other vendors.

We bought fresh tomatoes, homemade pimento cheese and homemade pesto...

Next, we went to The Pita Stop on the way home.  It was uh-maze-ing.
I had the rib-eye sandwich and hubs had the kafta sandwich.

Oh, and dessert.  You have to get dessert!

We spent Saturday night with our friends Brittany and Corey watching football.  Brittany cooked bbq lime chicken and mashed potatoes and both were yummy.  It was nice having some girl talk, too.

On Sunday we did this ALL day:

I hope all of  you had a fantastic weekend as well.

october 2012

I LOVE OCTOBER.
The leaves are beautiful and crunchy.
The air is crisp.
Cozy sweaters make their way to the front of the closet.
Boot boxes are dusted off.
Chili makes a come back.
Tomato soup tastes extra delicious.
The fireplace crackles.
Pumpkins are carved.
And for our family...October is full of birthdays, which means lots of getting together to celebrate.
We celebrated my birthday, my MIL's birthday, my oldest SIL's birthday, and my youngest SIL's birthday.  We dined out, cooked out, dined in, carved pumpkins, and enjoyed plenty of birthday cake.
Here's a glimpse into our October...

We also found time to get acquainted with our kitchen...

And dress the fur kids in their Halloween costumes...

And get to know our neighbors a little better.  They have brought us dinner, wine, and just this week lemons with a sweet note...

Now, for a few October finds:
Angry Orchard Hard Cider

Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts

International Delight Southern Butter Pecan Creamer
