Memorial Day

I'm so tired from all the fun we had during the long weekend!  It was nice spending so much time with my boyz and family.
Friday night we stayed in for the first time in a very long time.  Oddly, I didn't even miss our Mexican meal and margaritas.  It was relaxing being at home with the boyz and without an agenda!
Saturday our friends, Brittany and Corey hosted a crawfish/shrimp boil.  It was so much fun!  The food was great, plus we got to see all of our friends.  We all sat outside talking and catching up while the smell of cajun seasoning filled the air.  Perfect!

Sunday we went to eat at Chuy's with CJ's family for his sister, Kayt's birthday.  The atmosphere, company, conversation, food, and drinks were awesome.  You can see for miles and miles out on the patio.  I'd love to go back and dine outdoors!

Yesterday we went to Staci and Brian's.  Brian made his amazing ribs, Staci made baked beans and perfect potato salad.  We hung out in the back yard and watched the kids play in their pool.  Brian's parents even came by for a while and made homemade ice cream.  It was the perfect ending to a really great weekend...talk about relaxing!

Thanks family and friends for a very memorable Memorial Day!

Happy Anniversary, Kidds!

This week was Meredith and Adam's first anniversary!  It's been fun watching them grow together as a married couple.  They are both so in love and so relaxed with where they are in life.  I'm thankful that they share their lives with us; it truly is a blessing to have such amazing friends.  We're looking forward to many more cook outs, homemade dinners, football get togethers, board game nights, beach trips, and conversations that leave us sore the next morning from laughing!  We love you guys, cheers!

Thanks Rowlands!

Thanks guys for coming to the pool with us Saturday!  We had a lot of fun catching up and getting bronzed...or burnt, which ever the case may be:)  We're already looking forward to next weekend!

Thank you, honey!

Well, here it is Sunday and another work week is about to begin.  Although, I must say after the meal my sweetie just made - I don't even care that our weekend is ending!  It is so nice having a personal chef; I highly reccomend hiring one!

Steamed broccoli, twice baked potatos, and filets!

Friday night I went on a date with my future hubby to our regular Mexican place.  Yesterday we enjoyed just relaxing around the house and spending time with the boyz.  Now, our tummies are full and I'm going to snuggle with my sweetie.

Bout Time!

It seems like it's been a while since my last post!
We had a great, busy weekend last weekend.  Friday night we went to dinner with friends at Cantina in Hoover.  The food and atmosphere were lacking to put it mildly, but it was great seeing Jill and Katie.  Saturday night we had a blast at Staci and Brian's.  Staci cooked shrimp and grits - but there's no way this was a standard recipe.  It was delish!  She's such a great cook;  I think it's because she's so creative!  Sunday we had my mom, CJ's mom, his two younger sisters (Rachel and Kayt), Staci, Brian, Jonah and Callie over to celebrate Mother's Day.  We had a lot of fun cooking out and catching up.
Wanna see some pictures?

Story time

Well, I finally got to see most of the Royal Wedding yesterday!  CJ probably wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he watched a bit of it, too.  It was just as magical as I hoped it would be.  I loved Kate's dress, I thought it was perfect.  I loved all the carriages, fancy cars, fun hats, and military uniforms. It really was a modern day fairy tale - I hope Prince William and Princess Catherine enjoyed their day as much as I did!  The Bishop of London's sermon was so sweet and fitting.  Here is part of it:

“'Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.' So said St Catherine of Siena whose festival day it is today. Marriage is intended to be a way in which man and woman help each other to become what God meant each one to be, their deepest and truest selves....In a sense every wedding is a royal wedding with the bride and the groom as king and queen of creation, making a new life together so that life can flow through them into the future."

That wasn't all that went on this week...we had terrible weather throughout Alabama last Wednesday.  Our power went out that morning and was out for two days.  That's really so insignificant compared all of the families that lost some one or lost their homes.  Sadly, some probably lost both.

Friday night we went to dinner with Adam and Meredith at Habenero's and had fun, as usual.  Their power was off until yesterday afternoon.  My future sweet hubby and I ran some errands yesterday then went to watch the Baron's play.  It felt nice to be back at the ball park again...even if it wasn't Turner Field!   We had a really great time!

This afternoon Jonah and Callie are coming over to play and we can't wait!
